Pedestrian Operated Forklifts or 'Walkie Stackers'


Training on your site. Min of 5 trainees
We come to you to deliver this training. We bring all training materials.
You supply a room suitable for theory component and access to a suitable walkie stacker for practical component of the course including palletised load(s) that trainees can pick, carry and place.
Your workers are trained to use your walkie stacker.
Cancellation fees may apply, travel fees may also apply. Please call to discuss.
Duration: 
Depending on the number of trainees course can be from 4 hours to 6 hours plus any breaks
Course fee:
Our fee is $280 per person - includes all training materials including a course booklet for each trainee, issue of a certificate and/or a Verification of Competency for each successful trainee. A travel fee may also apply.
Course Aim:
To provide participants with the skills and knowledge to undertake activities related to mobile equipment operation as defined by AS2359.2.
Specific relevance to operating Walkie Stackers.
Training and evaluation provide the employer and trainee with evidence of skills and knowledge as part of a process for ‘Verification of Competency’. This allows employers to authorise workers to safely access and operate walkie stacker/pedestrian operated lift truck.
Class size: Min of 5 - Max of 10
Course Content:
The Training course offers comprehensive Theoretical and hands on Practical training/assessment delivered by accredited Trainers/Assessors.
Trainees can expect to learn knowledge and skills to safely operate walkie stackers.
The course content includes:
Hazard identification, Risk assessment and implementing suitable Controls Conducting Pre-use safety inspection of stackers If applicable, identifying safe operating parameters using data plate/manual/load charts Operation of walkie truck – conduct different lifts with different loads Emergency procedures Shut Down and Post Operation checks Battery charging (if applicable) Course assessment includes written test, calculations and practical observations.

Course Outcome:
Successful trainees receive a ‘Certificate of Completion’ for operating walkie stackers and/or a ‘Verification of Competency’ for the particular walkie stacker used at your site.
This training does not lead to a nationally recognised qualification.

Pre-Requisites:
Basic English literacy, language and numeracy (LLN).
Must be able to speak and understand spoken English, interpreters not allowed.
One item of Photo ID e.g. driver’s licence, passport


Stacker Classification: 
Walkie stackers and pedestrian operated lift trucks do not require a national HRW licence. However, employers (PCBUs) need to maintain training records and verification of competency for authorised operators.
This course enables them to meet these requirements.
