EWP Yellow Card issued by
Elevating Work Platform Association of Australia (EWPA)
NOTE:
From August 2024, all EWPA cards are in digital format and the minimum age was lowered to 16 years.

What is it? The EWP Yellow Card Licence is a registered ticket issued to operators who have been successfully trained by EWPA Accredited Trainers in the safe use and operation of various types of EWPs.
This digital photo card is nationally recognised and is the one insisted on by most principal contractors. In August 2024 the digital version was launched to be issued directly to trainee's inbox.
The course is mapped to RIIHAN301E - Nationally Recognised Unit of Competence.
The EWP types trained for are listed on the ticket.
EWPA Yellow Card is sufficient for all vertical & scissor lifts to any height but only covers Boom-type lifts which can reach up to 11m in height. See our courses for SafeWork NSW ( Over 11m Boom) licence if you require an over 11m High Risk Work Boom licence.
The four main EWP Types that may be listed on the yellow card are:
1. VL: Vertical Lifts
2. SL: Scissor Lifts
3. BL: Self Propelled Boom
4. TL: Trailer Mounted Boom (Tow Around)
Course Outline: Any or all four EWP types may be included on the card.
We can inbclude any or all of the EWP types available on your site where training is conducted.
For the Truck Mounted (TM) training a suitable truck mounted EWP would need to be available for use during training.
Pre-requisites:
Participants must be able to speak and understand English.
The use of interpreters is not allowed, however, assistance with reading or writing English is allowed and is available. Please let us know beforehand.
Participants need ONE type of photo ID: e.g. thier driver's licence or proof of age card.
Minimum age is 16 years. The age requirement changed from August 2024.
Now, the full, unrestricted Yellow Card is issued from age 16 years.
Course duration:
Usually around 6-7 hours face to face + breaks depending on previous knowledge, experience and class size. For example, start at 7am, 15 minute break at 9am and we aim to finish by 1pm.
From August 2024, participants are invited to pre-enrol online using a link sent to them by DAT Training.
The digital card can be saved to a smart phone digital wallet.
Course outcome:
On conclusion of training, (usually on the same day) successful participants meeting the assessment criteria will be issued with a YELLOW CARD in digital form.
They also get a downloadable PDF version.
